Buyer Planner

Job Description

Our client is a pioneering and globally recognised manufacturer who specialise in bespoke, high quality engineered components and assemblies, based in Haddenham. Due to continued investment, they are now looking to acquire the services of a knowledgeable and experienced Buyer Planner. The successful candidate must have previous extensive knowledge and experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Main responsibilities:

• Place and rescheduling purchase orders using ERP suggestions.
• Support with Inventory Management / levels / stock targets.
• Working closely with the overseas team to coordinate with Far East suppliers.
• Working closely with internal customers on delivery and stock levels.
• Negotiating with suppliers to drive cost reduction.
• Management of B & C Class suppliers for chosen commodity.
• Sending RFQ to suppliers and consolidating prices.
• Other tasks from time to time as required by the business

Key Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Computer literate (MS Office: Word, Excel).
• Excellent phone manner.
• Ability to work at a fast pace in a changing environment.
• Previous Supply Chain or Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• A strong team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate politely and effectively with a variety of people.
• An enthusiastic and energetic “can-do” nature.
• Excellent attention to detail.
