Job Description

Our client is a highly- respected educational establishment based in Warwick. They are looking for a strong Governance Administrator to work closely with their executive officers and Chair of Governors dealing with all procedural matters and lending administrative support. This a fantastic opportunity for a strong administrator who has a background in reading and understanding legislation and would love a new challenge in an educational environment.

Please note that this role is a term time only position and will be working 3 days a week (22 hours) and therefore the salary will be pro-rata to the hours worked.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and update governance protocols.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Governance admin is completed, including updating any changes to their list of Governors.
  • Conducting Right to Work and other appropriate checks including DBS.
  • Organising and recording appropriate training for all Governors.
  • Ensuring that Governors adhere to their safeguarding responsibilities, particularly their responsibility for the safeguarding of all students.
  • Officially preparing for Governor’s meetings including preparing agendas and minuting the meetings.
  • Maintain full and appropriate records of all governance activity.
  • Ensure compliance with legal polices and procedures throughout the establishment.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong administration skills and experience.
  • A legal background or prior experience to governance or compliance is essential.
  • Strong IT & literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to write agendas and accurate minute taking.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload whilst working to deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of the education sector or Governing Body procedures is highly desirable.
