Job Description

Our client is a well-established and respected business based in a beautiful part of north Oxfordshire. They are a market leaders within their niche industry, specialising in providing training, events, conferences and publications to businesses and delegates globally. Due to continued success and investment, they are now looking to acquire the services of a self-motivated and passionate Sales Manager. You will be responsible for leading a small team dedicated of Sales Executives, managing their performance and leading my example. You will be professional, highly motivated, driven by targets and have the ability to come in and hit the ground running. In return you will receive a competitive basic salary with a generous and realistic OTE, uncapped commission, excellent benefits package as well as a clear path for progression.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Generate revenue through the sales of sponsorships, training courses/events, delegate places and exhibition opportunities at both physical & virtual events.
  • Understand the needs of your existing accounts, providing an excellent level of service whilst identifying sales opportunities wherever possible.
  • Prospecting, identifying and qualifying new customers by securing new business opportunities to hit company growth targets.
  • Ensure that both personal and team activity targets are met, reporting figures into the MD.
  • Represent the business at international events while maintaining high levels of customer service and personal standards.
  • Develop strong industry knowledge through monitoring websites, reading publications, speaking to customers, attending events and training courses.
  • Maintain the CRM to a high standard.
  • Ensure excellent lines of internal communication with Marketing and Events departments to ensure all deliverables are met.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous B2B sales experience is essential, preferably within the events/conferences or service industry.
  • Ability to engage with senior level delegates (CEO’s, CFO’s, MD’s etc).
  • Can generate well written pitches for email and LinkedIn outreach, as well as the ability to meet face to face to pitch opportunities where appropriate.
  • Exceptional team player, with the ability to manage, motivate and support team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong telephone manner.
  • Strong listening skills with the capability to make sound judgement calls.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office.

Additional Information:

  • This role will involve some international travel, attending 6 – 9 events per year, each lasting 3 – 5 days at a time.
