Job Description

Our client is a hugely successful and award-winning company that develops high-performance software and hardware products for the entertainment, engineering, and life science industries. They are looking to acquire the services of a highly proficient Software Test Engineer (desktop application testing) to join their team at their site near Kidlington. Reporting to the Test Manager you will take the lead in the testing of highly complex systems, using a range of manual and automated approaches.

Main responsibilities:

  • Testing the company’s systems using a range of manual and automated approaches.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of hands-on software and hardware testing, including specification validation, bug and feature testing and regression testing.
  • On occasion acting as a motion capture subject during testing, as well as maintaining the equipment in the test space.
  • Communicating efficiently with the wider development team and guaranteeing that the testing is on track.
  • Working autonomously and ensuring that you deliver in line with the product plans whilst working collaboratively with the wider team.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering or another related field is highly advantageous.
  • Multiple years experience as a Test Engineer, with a background in both software/hardware development is essential.
  • Experience testing hardware-specific desktop applications.
  • Proficient in test management (TestRail preferred) and defect management tools (Jira preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Agile testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
