Job Description

Our client is a leading professional services provider, with a number of regional offices and an excellent reputation in their field. They are now seeking an experienced payroll administrator, to work as part of a busy bureau team, to provide services to their clients, ranging from SME’s, to larger corporate organisations.

Reporting to the Bureau Manager, you’ll be responsible for preparing and processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner, as well as providing support and advice to customers. We are therefore seeking applications from people who are experienced in running busy payrolls, either in-house or for a similar bureau service.

Key responsibilities;

  • Preparing weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual PAYE, processing payrolls, CIS and off payroll worker payrolls.
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding any queries raised and advising clients accordingly.
  • Conform to RTI regulations and submitting FPS and EPS.
  • Involved with auto-enrolment and referring to other departments where applicable.
  • Electronic filing via payroll system and the HMRC website.
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Attend relevant training courses to further develop skills, to ensure up to date knowledge of legislation and best practice.

Skills and experience required:

  • Experienced in a busy payroll processing role, either in-house or for an external bureau service.
  • Good computer literacy, in particular MS Office.
  • Accurate entry skills.
  • Very good communication skills, happy to deal with queries and requests.
  • Working knowledge of HMRC filing processes and auto-enrolment pensions administration.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
