12 MONTH FTC

Our client is an innovative & dynamic luxury retail brand, who have enjoyed phenomenal success over the past 10 years and are now looking to expand their operation further across the UK and abroad. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on an 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave to support the Assistant Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in working within an accounts team. You will be working Monday-Friday, 9-5 and will be based in our Head Office in Banbury, with the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the production of monthly Management and Financial Accounts
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations and strong balance sheet control (accruals, legal entities including forecasts and variance reporting prepayments, stock valuations)
  • Working with the Finance Operations Manager to ensure transactions are being dealt correctly
  • Prepare monthly journals
  • Management of stock payment processes
  • Aid in producing a detailed analysis and reconciliation of actual transactions against expected forecast
  • Review and identification of inter-company recharges
  • Review of line level transactions ensuring that VAT treatment is correct
  • Production of VAT returns for review and documentation back up for postponed import VAT
  • Generation of ad hoc reports as required by the business with the ability to produce meaningful commentary from the data
  • Prepare weekly cash flow for stock payments

Skills and Experience:

  • Good systems knowledge
  • Knowledge of journals
  • Financial accounts/management account experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive, proactive and can-do attitude
  • Ability to use initiative to help efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts preparation
  • Advanced level Excel skills
