Recruitment of a Talent Acquisition Specialist
At Plus One Personnel we enjoy the luxury of partnering with some of the best hiring managers and internal recruitment teams across the UK. We are constantly introduced to new products and services and therefore have the opportunity to develop our knowledge across a variety of industry sectors.
It is important to maintain a clear understanding of our specialist job sectors and their corresponding candidate markets. This allows us to provide a truly consultative service which significantly improves the outcome of any recruitment assignment we undertake.
We were approached by Achilles and asked if we could support them in the recruitment of a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Achilles creates and manages a global network of collaborative industry communities, allowing trading partners to share high quality, structured, real-time data. Achilles are committed to expanding into new markets and were looking to increase their internal hiring team, with an experienced professional.
In order to ensure that we attract the right candidates, a professionally written advert is vital. Our Senior Business Support recruiter took the time to understand the clients expectations and what elements were necessary for a candidate to thrive within the role thus enabling them to write an accurate job advertisement.
Alongside advertising we were proactive in our sourcing and used our candidate databases, major job boards and LinkedIn.
Shortly after we began exploring the market, it became clear that finding a candidate with the required experience at the suggested salary level was going to be a challenge. Rather than present candidates that were unsuitable, our recruiter put together a shortlist of 3 candidates, each with varying levels of experience and salary requirements.
This allowed us to provide Achilles with a snapshot of the expectation within the current candidate market, and advise where we believed their ideal candidate would fit in terms of budget. Evidencing the current market allowed the client to make an informed decision as to whether they would need to raise their budget, or consider amending their expectations to successfully recruit for this position.
Of the three candidates, all were requested to be interviewed, two were then invited back to a second stage with the successful candidate then attending a third and final interview.
Throughout the interview process, it is vital that we communicate effectively with both our clients and our candidates. The successful candidate was also interviewing elsewhere, and although they had expressed that our client was their preference, when it came to offer stage there were details and negotiations that’s took place that may not have been possible had we not kept up constant communication during the lifecycle of the project.
"Joanna was incredibly professional and approachable and was always able to provide me with answers at short notice. She went the extra mile and made the entire process as easy as possible. I would highly recommend her for anybody seeking a new role!" – Tom Morgan (Candidate )
