With the nomination deadline day for the 2015 Banbury Employee of the Awards almost upon us, we spoke with Helen Loggin from Tudor Photography – winner of the 2014 Banbury Employee of the Year Awards to find out what it has meant to her to be a winner.
When did you find out you had been nominated and how did you feel when you found out you were a shortlisted finalist?
It was a complete surprise to have been nominated and I only found out when I received an email from Plus One Personnel.
Who accompanied you to the awards?
Several friends and work colleagues.
Apart from winning, what did you enjoy about the Awards Ceremony?
The ambience of the stunning Great Hall in Broughton Castle greatly added to the sense of the occasion. It was also fantastic to see and catch up with so many people from the local business community.
How did you feel, when you found out that you’d won?
I was stunned! It took a while to sink in but then I enjoyed my moment of glory.
Did you think you might win, or was it a total surprise?
It was a surprise, given the high standard of the other nominees.
Where do you display the trophy and certificate?
Pride of place in the front office of our studio where it attracts a lot of attention.
How has winning this award affected Tudor Photography?
It certainly raised our profile locally. I couldn’t believe the amount of people who came up to congratulate me. I am still receiving congratulations nearly a year on.
Why do you think employers should enter their employees for this award?
Win or lose, I think it’s a wonderful way to show appreciation for employees and their efforts, in addition to raising morale.
Helen was nominated by Director Harry Rhodes, who said
“Helen has been the flagship for Tudor Photography for over 30 years and can be relied upon 110%! Nothing daunts her – from buckets of chemicals and dark rooms to space-age technology and our Clients love her ‘can-do’ attitude. Tudor Photography wouldn’t be where it is today without Helen.”
Helen commented “I was both surprised and delighted to have been chosen as Banbury Employee of the Year from so many exceptional entrants. Having worked for Tudor Photography for over 30 years, I am passionate about providing outstanding customer care – and going ‘over and above’ for our clients is something I continue to enjoy. Congratulations to Plus One Personnel for running such an innovative and high profile event which attracts a wide range of businesses of all sizes from the Banbury area.”
