Business Development Manager

Salary Rate: £50,000 + Bonus P/A

Are you a proven sales and business developer with an excellent track record of selling solution-based services into the pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences sector? My client is a world leader in supply chain and is looking to recruit a successful Business Development Manager to join their expanding team.

 

You will be responsible for the overall growth of the Clinical Trials Logistics and UK packaging services by leading the preparation and presentation of tender proposals and sales to new and existing CTL and packaging services customers.

 

To be successful you must be able to:

 

  • Research commercial opportunities and help define and prioritise the strategic market and sales approach.
  • Manage accounts, develop/win new business and build strong relationships with clients
  • Translate the market and customers to achieve results
  • Hit sales targets by visits, proposals and negotiation
  • Organise and prepare presentations to new and existing clients
  • Attend sponsored events, exhibitions, and conferences
  • Hold a presence and credibility within the industry
  • Negotiate contracts in order to obtain results by taking in to account all relevant aspects (company strategy, capacity, expected revenue)

Skills / experience required:

 

  • Degree education desirable
  • Experienced and able to demonstrate success in tendering and selling into key decision makers within the pharmaceutical and/or biotech development sector and/or a working knowledge of the Clinical Trials Logistics market.
  • Strategic thinking – understanding the impact of market trends on growth plans and anticipate strategic opportunities.
  • Good judgement and decision making – be able to manage situations and apply knowledge and experience as well as manage client expectations within the parameters of the delivery of a successful supply chain solution.
  • Effective communicator – encourage expression of ideas and opinions and draw out any points of concern with the customer to manage a win-win at any time
  • Adaptable – have a positive outlook and confidence and be a natural presenter. Possess a cultural awareness and an ability to let customers talk freely about their requirements
  • Delivering results – gain commitment from customers by setting clear objectives and performance standards.

Although this role is home based you must be able to travel throughout the UK and a company car/car allowance will be provided, along with a mobile office setup.
