Plus One Personnel are the first agency in the Banbury area to sign up to the Recruitment and Employment Confederations (REC), Youth Employment Charter, as reported in the Banbury Guardian this week. The Charter is an initiative through which REC members pledge to help reduce youth unemployment, and showcases existing good practice within the industry to reach out to the next generation of workers. Plus One Personnel recognises that although Banbury’s unemployment levels are fairly low, a high proportion of those unemployed are under 25.
With the recent news that more apprenticeships are being generated in the Banbury area Plus One Personnel thinks now is the perfect time to highlight and raise awarenes with local employers as to the skills and attributes those who are covered by the Youth Charter can bring to a business.
Director Claire Kingsbury said “As a business we already go in to local schools and talk to years 10, 11 and sixth formers about writing a CV, about how to stand out when applying for a role and what to expect when looking for a job and entering the world of work and we are looking to continue this but also to help ensure that local companys don’t automatically dismiss an applicant because of a lack of experience. Motivation, enthusiasm and a good attitude are just as valuable to an employer when recruiting as experience is. Plus One Personnel is pleased to be supporting the areas younger job seekers.
